U.S. Markit services PMI climbed to 52.3 in the final September print
U.S. Markit services PMI climbed to 52.3 in the final September print compared to August's 51.0 (and the preliminary September reading of 51.9). But that's still below the 55.1 reading a year ago. The employment component dropped to 51.1 versus last month's 51.9, and is the lowest since March 2013. Prices charged also declined to the lowest level since April. The final September composite index also improved, rising to 52.3 from August's 51.5 (and compares to the 52.0 preliminary September). The index was 55.0 a year ago. Employment declined to 51.3 from 51.6, to the lowest point since March. On Monday Market reported a decline in its manufacturing index to 51.5 in September from 52.0 in August.
