Shake Shack launches mobile ordering app for iOS

Shake Shack (SHAK) announced the launch of its first-ever mobile ordering Shack App for iOS (AAPL). Starting today at the Midtown East Shack, guests can order a ShackBurger, crinkle cut fries and frozen custard-all from their phone. This is a single Shack market test and no timeline has been established for future Shacks to launch the app. An Android (GOOG) version of the app is in development, the company said.

On The Fly: Top five analyst initiations
Catch up on today's top five analyst initiations with this list compiled by The Fly: 1. Aflac (AFL) initiated with a Sell at Evercore ISI with analyst Thomas Gallagher saying the market is overly focused on the benefit of a stronger yen and not enough on the negative impact created by negative government yields in Japan. 2. Shake Shack (SHAK) initiated with an Underperform at Wedbush with analyst Nick Setyan saying he expects its valuation to continue to contract, given that the stock's current valuation implies a much larger sales opportunity than management's guidance. 3. Invivo Therapeutics (NVIV) initiated with a Strong Buy at Raymond James. 4. CBS (CBS) and Time Warner (TWX) initiated with a Buy at Brean Capital. 5. Disney (DIS), Viacom (VIA), and 21st Century Fox (FOX) initiated with a Hold at Brean Capital. This list is just a portion of The Fly's analyst coverage. Shake Shack upgraded to Buy from Neutral at SunTrust
Suntrust upgraded Shake Shack to Buy and raised its price target to $48 from $45. Analyst Jake Bartlett said improved unit growth and its Q2 same-store-sales miss creates a buying opportunity. Shake Shack increased its 2016 unit growth target to 25 from 23 and also announced a licensed deal with HMS Host to open units in US airports. Bartlett expects further deals and said Shake Shack's industry leading unit growth story is getting stronger.

Shake Shack shares likely range-bound in near-term, says Jefferies
Jefferies analyst Andy Barish expects Shake Shack shares to be range-bound near-term in the $30s after the company reported same-store-sales of 4.5%, not double digits. Increasing labor costs and investments make significant upside surprises less likely going forward, Barish tells investors in a post-earnings research note. He lowered his price target for the shares to $36 from $38 and keeps a Hold rating on the shares.

Apple estimates raised at Morgan Stanley on confidence in next 'supercycle'
Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty raised her estimates for Apple for the second half of this calendar year on better than expected iPhone7 demand, but added that she believes higher near-term iPhone estimates are largely priced into shares. The real catalyst for the stock, however, is the FY18 "supercycle," in which Huberty is increasingly confident, she tells investors. Noting that the iPhone installed base is 60% larger, but that unit estimates are just 6% higher compared to iPhone 6, the analyst said she sees the potential for "meaningful" FY18 estimate revisions. Huberty keeps an Overweight rating on Apple and raised her price target on the shares to $124 from $123.

Intel results likely to be boosted by positive catalysts, says Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo thinks that Intel's (INTC) September quarter report and December quarter guidance will be boosted by several positive catalysts, including signs of improving PC demand, solid revenue momentum at its Data Center Group, and ramping sales of modems for Apple's (AAPL) iPhone 7. The firm keeps a $40-$50 price target on Intel and continues to identify it as a top pick.

Goldman suggests Apple 'go big' in content with launch of Prime-like service
Goldman Sachs analysts Simona Jankowski and Drew Borst made the case in a new note to investors that Apple (AAPL) should launch a subscription bundle, in the model of Amazon's (AMZN) "Prime" service, in order to reignite growth and avoid commoditization as smartphone sales plateau. Apple has the power to "turn the razor/blade model upside down," argue the analysts, who note that the iPhone giant can afford to be very aggressive in content, by paying premiums for must-have material or pricing services below competitors. An "Apple Prime" subscription bundle priced at $50 month - which would include the iPhone, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple original content, and potentially live sports - implies EPS generated by "Prime" customers would be over 10% accretive by 2021, the analysts contend. Goldman keeps a Buy rating on Apple shares.

Most of Note impact on Broadcom could be offset, says RBC Capital
RBC Capital analyst Amit Daryanani says that most of the impact on Broadcom (AVGO) of the Samsung Note 7 recall will be offset if consumers returning the Note buy Apple's (AAPL) iPhone 7 devices. The analyst says that Broadcom has $1-$2 more content per device in the iPhones than in the Note, so he thinks that the recall could actually provide "a tailwind for Broadcom." The analyst keeps a $190 price target and Top Pick rating on the stock.

JPMorgan tweaks Alibaba, Netflix targets lower ahead of Q3 results
JPMorgan analyst Doug Anmuth lowered his price target for Alibaba (BABA) to $134 from $135 and his target for Netflix (NFLX) to $122 from $125 ahead of the Q3 reporting season. Both stocks remain Overweight rated. The analyst slightly lowered his estimates for Alibaba to reflect tougher inventory comps and increased investment spending. He remains positive on the company's overall monetization trends. On Netflix, Anmuth tweaked his 2017 average selling price forecast lower while increasing his investment spend estimate modestly. Within the Internet space, the analyst's top large-cap picks into the quarter are Alphabet (GOOGL), Facebook (FB) and Amazon.com (AMZN). Among small-caps, his top picks into earnings are Yelp (YELP), Pandora (P) and Match Group (MTCH).

Wells doesn't see Apple as biggest beneficiary from Samsung issues
Wells Fargo analyst Maynard Um attributes the recent rally in shares of Apple (AAPL), at least in part, to Samsung's (SSNLF) issues with its Note 7 phones. Apple gained an incremental $14B in market capitalization at its intraday peak, which the analyst believes embeds more than 3M of incremental iPhone 7 Plus units. Samsung's production halt will help Apple, but other Android vendors with 5.7 inch phones could see a bigger benefit if Android users prefer to stick with Android, Um tells investors in a research note. He points out that LG, Kyocera, and Microsoft (MFST) have 5.7 inch Android phones at U.S. carriers. Um thinks expectations for Apple into earnings "have risen materially." He keeps a Market Perform rating on the iPhone maker. Apple closed yesterday up 25c to $116.30.

Alphabet, Facebook can meet Street estimates, says Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo says that investors are concerned about the ability of Facebook (FB) and Google (GOOG,GOOGL) to meet Street estimates because forecasts continue to indicate that TV's ad share will be relatively stable over the next two years. But Wells says that Facebook and Google will continue to gain share from "non-TV media" and could see increased revenue from "non-advertising marketing services" such as sponsorships and public relations. Wells keeps Outperform ratings on both stocks.

Citi says Salesforce buying Twitter 'nearly impossible' above $28/share
Citi analyst Walter Pritchard believes a Salesforce (CRM) acquisition of Twitter (TWTR) is possible financially but that such a deal would put "significant constraints" on the company for the next three-plus years. The analyst sees "very little reason" for Salesforce to own Twitter and feels the acquisition "would pose a difficult decision" for CEO Marc Benioff and the board. Salesforce closed yesterday down 6%, or $4.21, to $68.42. Recode reported last night that the company is likely the only bidder left for Twitter after Disney (DIS) and Alphabet (GOOG) opted not to pursue a deal while Apple (AAPL) is unlikely. Twitter in pre-market trading is down 14% to $21.50. In order for Salesforce to avoid a shareholder vote, it would have to borrow $7.5B to fund the transaction if Twitter were valued at $20B, or $27.50-$28 per share, Pritchard tells investors in a research note. This is a level that likely constrains the company with little additional borrowing capacity for other deals, the analyst contends. He thinks the deal is "nearly impossible to do" for Salesforce should the bidding for Twitter go above $20B or $28 per share. Pritchard has a Buy rating on Salesforce with an $89 price target.
