U.S. equities have extended gains
U.S. equities have extended gains paced by the snapback recovery in FANG tech stocks, with the NASDAQ 1.4% higher and S&P 0.7% firmer, along with a 0.5% bounce in the Dow. Europe closed solidly in the wake of French parliamentary elections going Macron's way, leaving the Euro Stoxx 50 and French CAC about 1% higher on the day. Within the Dow, tech and financials are atop the leader board, with Apple +3%, JPM +2.3% and Goldman +2.1%, while on the downside are Travelers -0.8%, Exxon -0.7% and GE -0.6%. WTI crude has since slipped 0.6% to the $44.45 area, while the financials benefited from the rebound in yields following hawkish noises from NY Fed's Dudley earlier. Gold has extended its downside break to $1,245 lows, while the dollar index is 0.4% higher near 97.53.
