Facebook CEO exceeds expecations in congressional hearing, says Wells Fargo
Following the first day of Congressional testimony by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Wells Fargo analyst Ken Sena says the executive exceeded investor expectations. "He appeared focused, conciliatory, and genuinely engaged in a productive discussion" with legislators on how best to rectify the company's loss in public trust and the company's roadmap to safeguard against future abuses, the analyst contends. Sena sees this as a positive sign for investors, even though another long day of testimony remains ahead. He reiterates an Outperform rating and $230 price target on the shares.

Facebook price target lowered to $214 from $237 at Argus
Argus analyst Joseph Bonner lowered his price target on Facebook to $214 and also reduced his FY18 EPS target to $8.54 from $8.61, saying the headline risk for the company has increased from the Cambridge Analytica scandal as well as the reported U.S. election tampering. Bonner contends that Facebook may be faced with "material" regulatory action and also may experience a decline in user engagement from the privacy related backlash. The analyst notes however that Facebook's operational results are strong, with earnings growth 65% and revenue growth of 47% last year, while its large daily active user base gives it the momentum to withstand the headwinds.

Facebook CEO 'cooperative and well prepared' in Senate testimony, says SunTrust
SunTrust analyst Youssef Squali keeps his Buy rating and $225 price target on Facebook following the 4-hour testimony by CEO Mark Zuckerberg in front of the U.S. Senate yesterday. The analyst says Zuckerberg appeared "well-prepared and cooperative" in defending Facebook position while also acknowledging its mistakes and expressing willingness to implement major platform changes. Squali calls the testimony a "seminal event" that will likely lead to increased regulation, but also maintains the view that large advertising platforms like Facebook should remain favored by more government oversight. The analyst maintains his view of no evidence of flight by large digital advertisers and no indication that users are leaving Facebook en masse. Squali also keeps his positive view on the stock's compelling valuation.

Take-Two should be bought on overblown 'Fortnite' risk, says Piper Jaffray
Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson says shares of Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) are down 10% year-today and have lagged video game peers Activision Blizzard (ATVI) and Electronic Arts (EA) due to concerns around "Fortnite" and disappointment with December quarter digital revenue. The shares should be bought at current levels as "Fortnite" risk is overblown, Olson tells investors in a research note. The analyst's conversations with major video game publishers suggest the potential impact from "Fortnite" has been "blown out of proportion." While the analyst does expect a measurable impact on Activision's near-term revenue due to overlapping titles, he sees "very minimal impact" on EA and Take-Two. Further, Olson believes Take Two has a "significant catalyst" in October with Red Dead Redemption 2. He views the stock's relative valuation as discounted and reiterates an Overweight rating on the shares with a $127 price target.

Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts pullbacks a buying opportunity, says KeyBanc
KeyBanc analyst Evan Wingren is reducing estimates for Activision Blizzard (ATVI), Electronic Arts (EA), and Take-Two (TTWO), but views the pullbacks as a meaningful buying opportunity. A proprietary survey, proprietary credit card analysis on sentiment, and conversations with investors and publishers lead him to believe that Fortnite will impact results. The analyst sees some room for more modest downside from here, but believes a reasonable downside scenario is priced in.

Video game publisher weakness brings buying opportunity, says Piper Jaffray
Investor concerns around the popularity of "Fortnite" and lack of specific near-term catalysts has created a buying opportunity for shares of video game publishers, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson tells investors in a research note. He believes the issues facing the group are short-term, while long-term characteristics continue to improve. The analyst highlights the group's growing digital revenue mix, increasing visibility and improving free cash flow characteristics. Olson believes video game multiples can move higher and keeps Overweight ratings on Activision Blizzard (ATVI), Electronic Arts (EA), Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) and Zynga (ZNGA). Take-Two and EA are the analyst's current favorite names.

Facebook sell-off is 'overdone', says SunTrust
SunTrust analyst Youssef Squali writes that the 17% decline in the stock price of Facebook (FB) since the emergence of the Cambridge Analytica scandal last week is overdone, keeping his Buy rating and $225 price target. Squali notes that the digital advertisers he spoke with are not leaving the platform because of Facebook's marketing effectiveness and also sees few signs of "users fleeing Facebook en masse". The analyst further points to "compelling valuation" on the shares, the likelihood of limited regulatory actions, and the history of the spillover from other data breach instances impacting companies like Yahoo (AABA) and Equifax (EFX) eventually passing.

Piper lowers General Mills estimates on Blue Buffalo's PetSmart exposure
Blue Buffalo Pet Products' (BUFF) exposure to PetSmart, which represented 41% of 2017 sales, adds risk that General Mills' (GIS) growth expectations post-deal close may be too optimistic, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Lavery tells investors in a research note. PetSmart's net debt/EBITDA could bring "supplier headaches" similar to what Toys "R" Us has done, the analyst contends. The analyst lowered his fiscal 2019 earnings per share estimate for General Mills to $3.08 from $3.13 to reflect the risk of more modest expected sales growth. 'Indiscriminate' selling in midstream MLPs presents opportunity, says MUFG
MUFG analyst Barrett Blaschke attributes a pair of recent announcements from FERC for the broad selloff that has followed in midstream MLPs. He notes that on March 15, FERC ruled that MLPs can no longer use an income tax allowance in their rate calculation and also proposed a rate adjustment to account for the reduction in the corporate tax rate. This has led to "indiscriminate panic selling" across the space, which he sees as a buying opportunity "at what may be effectively fire-sale prices," he tells investors. Blaschke notes that Antero Midstream Partners (AM), Antero Midstream GP (AMGP), Hess Midstream Partners (HESM) and Noble Midstream (NBLX), on which he has Overweight ratings, "effectively have no assets impacted by the change." The analyst also points toward Enterprise Products (EPD), EQT Midstream Partners (EQM), MPLX (MPLX), Phillips 66 Partners (PSXP) and Valero Energy Partners (VLP) as likely to be only minimally impacted by the ruling.

Mizuho sees MLP buying opportunities after tax ruling selloff
Mizuho analyst Brian Zarahn believes energy infrastructure tailwinds from rising production, higher exports and projects entering service more than offset the headwinds from midstream competition, interest rates and the recent FERC tax ruling. In a research note titled "Tax Policy Impact Not as Bad as Feared," the analyst recommends using the recent share selloffs to buy Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), Enterprise Products (EPD), Plains All American (PAA) and Valero Energy Partners (VLP). Zarahn also lowered his price target for Enbridge Energy (EEP) to $13 from $15 to reflect the negative impact of the FERC tax change.

He believes the concerns are overdone and thinks the risk of this merger is lower than other deals in the space. Jacobs management has a strong execution track record, Dillard contended. The analyst sees a path to 65% earnings growth and a doubling of free cash flow over the next three years. As such, he views the stock as "significantly undervalued." 4. Akamai (AKAM) upgraded to Equal Weight from Underweight at Morgan Stanley by analyst Keith Weiss. After a period of declining margins, he sees signs of stability, noting that following the involvement of activist Elliott Management the company has announced a 5% workforce reduction and new shareholder value initiatives. Also, the contribution from Akamai's top 6 Media customers looks to have stabilized after two years of steep declines and his customer survey indicating a more defensible core base, Weiss said. 5.
