Fly Intel: Today's top analyst calls on Wall Street
Check out today's top analyst calls from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly. SIDOTI UPGRADES SYSTEMAX TO BUY: Sidoti analyst Anthony Lebiedzinski upgraded Systemax (SYX) to Buy from Neutral. The analyst said the recent selloff in shares is overdone and maintained a $45 price target. Systemax shares are up 10.2% in morning trading. PIPER CUTS STARBUCKS TO NEUTRAL: Piper Jaffray analyst Nicole Miller Regan downgraded Starbucks (SBUX) last night to Neutral from Overweight and lowered her price target for the shares to $53 from $60. The motivation for the downgrade was another month of U.S. checks that suggested a lack of comp performance, Miller Regan said. The analyst believes shares of Starbucks will be "range bound at best" until U.S. trends improve. She sees issues around "inconsistent results, credibility of guidance, and management transitions." Miller Regan thinks the stock has "modest downside risk." MKM BOOSTS NETFLIX TARGET TO $395: MKM Partners analyst Rob Sanderson raised his price target for Netflix (NFLX) to $395 from $390 and kept a Buy rating on the shares after updating his estimates. The analyst said his "previous caution" on the shares is "now reversed" following the recent stock price correction. His subscriber ramp expectations are "somewhat lower" in the near-to-medium term but remain unchanged in the long-term. Netflix will approach full penetration of the U.S. over time, growing to 90M subscribers by 2025, Sanderson said. He continues to see over $40 per share in earnings power at 90M U.S. and 300M international subscribers, which he projected in the 2025 timeframe. Expectations for Netflix became "somewhat elevated, but have been appropriately moderated," Sanderson contended. He called the stock a "must-own for growth managers." BAIRD SAYS STAR WARS LICENSE ADDS VISIBILITY FOR ZYNGA: Baird analyst Colin Sebastian believes the Star Wars license announced adds some visibility to Zynga's (ZNGA) out-year growth targets. The new Disney (DIS) license is a positive development for Zynga for the longer-term given the popularity of the Star Wars franchise, Sebastian said. That said, he does not expect a material contribution from new titles until 2020. As such, Sebastian kept a Neutral rating on Zynga shares. Znga shares are up 7.6% in late morning trading. PIPER SAYS FACEBOOK USERS 'UNFAZED' BY ISSUES: Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson said his firm's survey of 1,300 Facebook (FB) and Instagram users leaves him confident that "most are unfazed by the negative news flow." The analyst kept an Overweight rating on Facebook shares with a $200 price target.

Piper survey shows most Facebook, Instagram users unfazed by recent issues
Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson says his firm's survey of 1,300 Facebook and Instagram users leaves him confident that "most are unfazed by the negative news flow." Facebook has had a rough year from a public relations perspective, with Cambridge Analytica, concern around "fake news" and privacy issues, Olson tells investors in a research note. However, the survey, which focused on usage of the services this year versus last year, found that the majority, or two-thirds, are using Facebook and Instagram the same or more versus last year, Olson writes. He believes the 21% pullback in Facebook shares since the July 25 close more than reflects issues surrounding Europe's new privacy laws as well as the rising cost of content security and screening. The analyst keeps an Overweight rating on Facebook shares with a $200 price target. The social media giant closed yesterday up 12c to $172.62.

Sito Mobile price target lowered to $4 from $9 at Lake Street
Lake Street analyst Mark Argento blames Sito Mobile (SITO) management for misjudging the time it has taken to close deals, but he believes they have the right long-term vision and need to maximize the long-term opportunity while acknowledging "near-term realities," including the fact that Facebook (FB) data issues have touched off significant introspection by potential customers. He lowered his price target on the stock to $4 from $9 to reflect the continued push out of big data wins and uncertainty surrounding the legacy media placement business. While he now thinks Sito is "firmly in show-me territory," Argento keeps a Buy rating on the shares.

Facebook suit, Burma issues point to 'systemic problems,' says Pivotal Research
Pivotal Research analyst Brian Wieser noted that a lawsuit was filed on Wednesday by one of Facebook's small business advertisers that alleges, citing anonymous former employees, that "those who were responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Potential Reach at Facebook were indifferent to the actual numbers." He also noted that the United Nations has "accused Facebook of playing a determining role in stirring up hatred against the Rohingya Muslim minority in Rakhine State" of Burma. Both the lawsuit related to Ads Manager reach data and the recent reporting on how Facebook ignored concerns related to its role in the problems in Burma "further illustrate systemic problems with the company," contends Wieser, who keeps a $140 price target and Sell rating on Facebook shares.

The analyst adds that the dilution-related losses from the Flipkart deal should decline in the medium to long term while returns improve. McKeever further states that his model update reflects some adjustments made following the sale of an 80% stake in Walmart Brazil to Advent.

Bernstein concerned about Walmart's online growth
Bernstein analyst Brandon Fletcher says that while Walmart had a great sales performance and raised guidance, he is concerned about the economics of the online growth as he believes pick from store is the least efficient method. The analyst thinks Walmart's engineering teams have come to the same conclusion, but the behavior of rolling pickup to1800 stores and 40% of U.S. geography getting grocery delivery without new supply chain assets is incongruent. Furthermore, Fletcher is "bewildered" by the curious incident of the 4.5% comp in the Walmart nighttime. While Walmart's price leadership stance is clear with softer margins, the analyst is not sensing the deep price cuts of the past.

Dollar General price target raised to $117 from $107 at MKM Partners
MKM Partners analyst Patrick McKeever raised his price target on Dollar General (DG) to $117 and kept his Buy rating as part of his broader research note on the discount retail sector. The analyst notes that he is watching the Farm Bill and its impact on food stamp assistance as it relates to the lower-income consumers, but still believes that the macro backdrop for that sector is good as evidenced by Walmart's (WMT) 4.5% Q1 comp growth. McKeever prefers Dollar General to Neutral-rated Dollar Tree (DLTR) given its "ongoing execution issues and lagging productivity". The analyst adds that he is positive on Dollar General's store economics after the company opened a record number of stores last year and grew its square footage by 9%, which is "one of the highest rates in retail".

Walmart battle with Amazon set to escalate, says Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley analyst Simeon Gutman believes Walmart's (WMT) battle with Amazon (AMZN) is about to intensify and he views its ability to counter Amazon's challenges as the key long-term debate on the stock. He believes Walmart shares are pricing in a continuation of 2-3% comps over the next few years with 40% e-commerce growth and improving e-commerce profitability, but he fears this may not be sustainable. He keeps an Equal Weight rating on Walmart shares, stating that to make him more bullish Walmart needs to show sustained top-line strength in both channels and to become more bearish he'd have to see U.S. EBIT margins contract more than he expects.

Room survey suggests 'modest' upside to guidance for MGM, Caesars, says Nomura
Nomura Instinet analyst Harry Curtis said in a research note to investors that while his latest Las Vegas room rate survey shows "mostly negative" y/y trends through October, sequential price momentum, measured by first-to-last call rates, has become more positive for Strip operators for the first time in months. Curtis says the latest survey for Q3 shows y/y rates down 1.2% for MGM (MGM) vs. guidance of down 5%-7% and up 3.6% for Caesars (CZR) vs. guidance of flat to up 2%, suggesting there could be modest upside to Q3 guidance for both MGM and Caesars. The analyst also lowers his FY19 EPS view to $2.68 from $2.78 to reflect rising cost pressures and recent sales trend, but boosts his "upside scenario" profit target to $55 to account for the possibility of strategic alternatives. Ahead of the company's strategic review and Q4 EPS, the analyst concludes that with proper execution, U.S. soup can be stabilized and in time Campbell can achieve its long-term growth rates, portfolio adjustments should include the divestitures of C-Fresh and Asian Global Baking & Snacking, and a sale of Campbell Soup at this time is unlikely to maximize fair value. Piper views sale of Campbell Soup as unlikely
Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Lavery does not expect a sale of Campbell Soup (CPB) to be part of its strategic update. Rather, the analyst thinks the company will focus on how it can turn around its business. He believes spending increases are needed and that a C-Fresh divestiture is likely, but with only modest proceeds. He thinks Kraft Heinz (KHC), viewed as a potential bidder if Campbell Soup were for sale, "prefers brands with stronger equity and market share positions and may not be interested." Lavery lowered his price target for Campbell shares to $35 from $36 and keeps an Underweight rating on the name.

As previously reported, Morgan Stanley analyst James Faucette upgraded Corning to Overweight from Equal Weight, stating that the number one question he gets from investors is about how the display market has remained so healthy despite weakness in the panel market over the past couple of years. The analyst, who thinks concerns over the display segment have been "overdone," notes supply and demand are more in unison, the company maintains a cost advantage, and Corning dominates where the display market is healthiest. He also contends that expansion opportunities are closer than they appear as he believes there will be demonstrated traction in one, if not multiple, of Corning's areas of investment in the coming years. Faucette raised his price target on Corning shares to $34 from $33.

BUCKINGHAM SAYS FORCED SALE OF CHARTER ASSETS 'UNLIKELY': Buckingham analyst Matthew Harrigan noted that New York's Public Service Commission has moved to push Charter (CHTR) out of the state and presented the company with a 60 day ultimatum to find a buyer for its assets there due to what it views as "repeated failures" to honor its commitments around the 2016 merger with Time Warner Cable. Cemex (CX) downgraded to Hold from Buy at HSBC with analyst Eduardo Altamirano saying Cemex's deleveraging remains intact, but the pace at which debt is converted to equity is slowing down due to weaker than expected pricing and volumes in most regions, combined with higher input costs. 3. Cenovus Energy (CVE) downgraded to Hold from Buy at Canaccord with analyst Dennis Fong saying cash flow valuation is in line versus the large-cap group, which he thinks is appropriate given the company's above-average heavy oil exposure, moderated production growth profile, and higher leverage. 4. Nanometrics (NANO) downgraded to Neutral from Buy at DA Davidson with analyst Thomas Diffely saying that after outperforming its peer group over the past few years, the stock now trades at a 40% premium to its peers. 5. Coty (COTY) downgraded to Underperform from Buy at BofA/Merrill with analyst Olivia Tong citing inconsistent execution and increasing disruption across the mass beauty segment. AstraZeneca downgraded to Hold following outperformance at Jefferies
As previously reported, Jefferies analyst Ian Hilliker downgraded AstraZeneca (AZN) to Hold from Buy citing valuation following the stock's outperformance since he upgraded it in March. Hilliker has raised his price target on AstraZeneca to 6,200p, but notes that this only leaves about 8% of further upside. Following results for the Q2 period, Hilliker said Novartis (NVS) remains his top European Pharmaceuticals pick, followed by Roche (RHHBY) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in third place.

Insmed likely to be acquired after positive panel vote, says H.C. Wainwright
H.C. Wainwright analyst Andrew Fein raised his price target for Insmed (INSM) to $43 from $35 following yesterday's 12-2 FDA panel vote in favor of ALIS in refractory nontuberculous mycobacterial patients. Insmed is now likely to be acquired as ALIS "fits well within the pipeline of a number of larger companies," Fein tells investors in a research note. He expects the company's Q3 conference call "may well be its last." The analyst sees AstraZeneca (AZN), Gilead Sciences (GILD) and Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) as potential acquirers of Insmed. He reiterates a Buy rating on Insmed.
