Nokia gaining 5G market share with AT&T, says MKM Partners
MKM Partners analyst Michael Genovese kept his Buy rating and $7.50 price target on Nokia (NOK), saying his checks indicate that the company has "gained significant 5G base station market share at AT&T (T) at Ericsson's (ERIC) expense". The analyst notes that while 4G/LTE market share at AT&T was 65% Ericsson and 35% Nokia, the 5G Wireless Access infrastructure market share is likely at 65% Nokia and 35% Samsung (SSNLF). Genovese sees Nokia becoming the "prime infrastructure vendor" heading into 2019 - the year of "major positive global inflection for 5G".

Fly Intel: Today's top analyst calls on Wall Street
Check out today's top analyst calls from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly. UBS SAYS BUY AT&T: UBS analyst John Hodulik upgraded AT&T (T) to Buy and raised his price target for the shares to $38 from $33, noting that the stock is trading near all-time low valuations and at its widest valuation gap to Verizon (VZ). The Time Warner transaction and accounting changes "have compounded [other] issues, leading to a loss of visibility for investors," but his work indicates that AT&T will return to EBITDA growth in the second half of 2018, after a 6% decline in the first half, due to growth in Wireless and WarnerMedia as well as slower declines in Entertainment. JPMORGAN GOES TO BULL FROM BEAR ON NOVAVAX: JPMorgan analyst Eric Joseph double upgraded Novavax (NVAX) to Overweight from Underweight saying the risk/reward is favorable into the report of Prepare trial data in Q1 of 2019. The trial is assessing the efficacy of the company's RSV F Vaccine for infants via maternal immunization and the analyst believes the shares can hit a range of $2.00 to $2.25, he told investors. JPMORGAN SUGGESTS BEING SHORT COPART, LONG KAR: JPMorgan analyst Ryan Brinkman downgraded Copart (CPRT) to Underweight and lowered his price target for the shares to $47 from $48. The company reported softer than expected Q4 results this week but trades at "near record multiples" of earnings and EBITDA, Brinkman told investors. The analyst sees a potential pair trade in going long KAR Auction (KAR) shares, and short Copart shares, to capitalize on the "valuation disconnect." LOOP SETS $8.25 TARGET ON HARMONIC: Loop Capital analyst James Kisner initiated Harmonic (HLIT) with a Buy rating and $8.25 price target, saying he believes Harmonic can "drive robust revenue growth on its Cable Edge business as cable operators like Comcast (CMCSA, CMCSK) adopt its virtual CCAP/CMTS solution," and that the company's video business with stabilize. 'DON'T PANIC' OVER DOD PROPOSAL: Morgan Stanley analyst Rajeev Lalwani attributes the underperformance in Defense stocks over the last two days compared to the broader market to heightened concerns around a month old proposal from the Department of Defense to adjust progress and performance payments down to 50% from 80% of cost, which would effectively slow the timing of cash flow receipts closer to when a project is complete. He sees a number of reasons not to panic, mainly because he believes that the Administration will not move forward with a proposal industry-players will paint as being anti-business and anti-defense spending. Publicly-traded defense contractors include General Dynamics (GD), Huntington Ingalls (HII), L3 Technologies (LLL), Lockheed Martin (LMT), Northrop Grumman (NOC) and Raytheon (RTN).

CenturyLink CFO departure raises concerns, says Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer analyst Timothy Horan notes CenturyLink (CTL) has announced that CFO Sunit Patel will depart as of September 28th to join T-Mobile (TMUS) to lead the Sprint (S)/T-Mobile merger and integration efforts. The analyst expects weakness in CenturyLink's stock, as investors will likely be concerned with synergy realization after Patel's departure. While Horan says his departure is disappointing, he believes CenturyLink has a deep management bench, and Jeff Storey, CEO, will continue to be the driving force behind restructuring and expense reductions at the company. He reiterates an Outperform rating and $24 price target on the shares.

Fly Intel: Today's top analyst calls on Wall Street
Check out today's top analyst calls from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly. OPCO CUTS CHIPOTLE TO UNDERPERFORM: Oppenheimer analyst Brian Bittner downgraded Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) to Underperform from Perform with a $400 price target. Since its new CEO announcement in February, Chipotle is up 82% and has been upgraded 10 different times by the Street, Bittner noted. The company's "high-flying" valuation has "priced in" persistent mid-single same-store-sales and a path to at least $20 of earnings per share versus $8-$9 this year, the analyst added. His work suggests this earnings path is too optimistic, even when assuming "healthy sales." INTEL CUT TO UNDERWEIGHT BY BARCLAYS: Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis downgraded Intel (INTC) to Underweight from Equal Weight and lowered his price target for the shares to $38 from $53. End-market tailwinds that propelled the run in shares, namely PC shortages and the slowing of server growth, are likely to reverse, Curtis believes. Further, the analyst expects Intel will see increased competition from AMD (AMD) and declining free cash flow returns. In addition, the names that have been floated in the CEO search "have yet to yield any disruptive potential candidates to take on all of these challenges," Curtis said. By squandering its manufacturing lead, the company now faces a "costly battle to retain share amidst a near-term slowing of its end markets," concluded the analyst. MKM CUTS INFINERA TO SELL: MKM Partners analyst Michael Genovese downgraded Infinera (INFN) to Sell from Neutral and lowered his price target to $5.50 from $10. The analyst said his checks suggest the company's loss of its biggest customer CenturyLink (CTL) to Ciena (CIEN) amid concerns with its ability to produce "new leading edge digital signal processors every 18-30 months". Genovese expects Infinera's upcoming guidance for Q4 and FY19 to be disappointing on revenues and margins, while his price target that assumes a valuation multiple of 0.8-times enterprise value to expected FY19 sales "reflects increasing concerns about the long-term competitiveness of the company." TEVA UPGRADED AT LEERINK, GOLDMAN: Leerink analyst Ami Fadia upgraded Teva (TEVA) to Market Perform from Underperform due to improving business fundamentals as well as the improving multiples for the overall generics sector. The analyst, who believes the company's fundamentals have improved meaningfully and put Teva in a position to pay down $3.5B in debt by YE18, raised his price target on the shares to $24 from $16. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs analyst Jami Rubin added Teva to Goldman's Conviction List with a Buy rating, calling the recent selloff in the shares a "head scratcher." Recent concerns raised in the marketplace regarding second half of 2018 headwinds and Eli Lilly's (LLY) galcenuzemab approval were already expected and well understood, Rubin tells investors in a research note. DEUTSCHE CUTS LAM RESEARCH, APPLIED MATERIALS TO HOLD: Deutsche Bank analyst Sidney Ho downgraded Lam Research (LRCX) to Hold and lowered his price target for the shares to $170 from $230, and downgraded Applied Materials (AMAT) to Hold and lowered his price target for the shares to $43 from $58. Semicap Equipment stocks are not expensive but lack positive catalysts, Ho said. The analyst believes investor fears over that the industry has reached a cyclical peak will remain as long as the memory market stays weak. Further, he sees risk is for additional capex push-outs, especially in the first half of 2019.

Applied Optoelectronics price target lowered to $19 from $28 at Craig-Hallum
Craig-Hallum analyst Richard Shannon lowered his price target for Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) to $19 from $28, citing the lower guide on quality issues, likely at number one customer. The analyst believes the specific customer is Facebook (FB), where his checks indicate competitor Intel (INTC) is poised to ramp production and gain share. Since data center customers' value supply chain execution nearly as much as quality and price, Shannon worries that this action may cause Facebook to allocate share increasingly to Intel and Innolight. The analyst reiterates a Sell rating on Applied Optoelectronics shares.

As reported earlier, Evercore ISI analyst Kirk Materne downgraded Oracle to In Line from Outperform with a price target of $53 to reflect the update of his model into FY20. The analyst notes that even though growth is expected to accelerate modestly in the second half of this year, there are not enough catalysts for share to "meaningfully re-rate" from current levels, adding that the risk-reward appears balanced following this summer's rally. Materne adds that given the cross-currents of business trends and the expected absence of any material disclosures or cloud strategy at OpenWorld, he recommends looking for a better entry point.

He believes fundamentals support a higher standalone multiple. CREDIT SUISSE DOWNGRADES HI-CRUSH, COVIA: Credit Suisse analyst Jim Wicklund downgraded Hi-Crush Partners (HCLP) to Neutral from Outperform and Covia (CVIA) to Underperform from Neutral. The analyst noted that the weakness that has rippled through the frack sand subsector since August came sooner than he expected. He also believes the deal "is a significant headwind for Acacia (ACIA) "since Infinera will look to move Coriant to its own vertically integrated technology platform". The analyst further notes that while Infinera preannounced Q2, the absence of Q3 guidance accompanying the deal suggests that the outlook may be at risk from reduced Charter Communications (CHTR) sales. DEUTSCHE UPS JUNIPER IN 'CONTRARIAN' CALL: Deutsche Bank analyst Vijay Bhagavath upgraded Juniper Networks (JNPR) to Buy from Hold and raised his price target for the shares to $32 from $25. The analyst said he's "going against the grain" and making a "contrarian call." The post-earnings selloff on the "better than feared" Q2 results and below consensus Q3 guidance, which is primarily related to switch router upgrade timing at a handful of cloud and service provider customers, provides a "reasonable entry point." EQT Midstream (EQM) and EQT GP (EQGP) downgraded to Sector Perform from Outperform at RBC Capital by analyst TJ Schultz, who derived his rating from his probability scale around the midstream business, assigning a 65% chance that EQT GP is the surviving entity post midstream simplification and a 30% chance that EQT Midstream Partners is the surviving entity. 4. Tallgrass Energy GP (TEGP) downgraded to Equal Weight from Overweight at Barclays by analyst Christine Cho, who said her analysis suggests a Tallgrass Energy GP acquisition of Tallgrass Energy Partners (TEP) is the most likely scenario. She valued Tallgrass Energy GP at $25 in this scenario. 5. Unisys (UIS) downgraded to Neutral from Positive at Susquehanna. This list is just a portion of The Fly's full analyst coverage. Unisys price target raised to $22 from $16 at SunTrust
SunTrust analyst Frank Atkins raised his price target on Unisys to $22 and kept his Buy rating, saying the company is on a better than expected revenue trajectory after its recent wins in Georgia and Virginia solidified its macro backdrop. The analyst adds that the investment thesis on Unisys remains intact, driven by "amplified improvement on the pension side, potential rate increases, and market movement". Atkins also notes that the inclusion of Unisys in the S&P SmallCap 600 index may support its multiples and generate additional liquidity for the stock.

Unisys price target raised to $13 from $11 at Loop Capital
Loop Capital analyst Joseph Vafi raised his price target on Unisys to $13, saying the company's large underfunded pension deficit could start to ream a benefit as interest rates rise and investment grade bonds begin to follow. Vafi estimates that every 25bp increase in discount rates produces up to $130M to the company's U.S. and international pension liability, while also noting an improvement in bookings over the past two quarters. The analyst keeps his Hold rating on Unisys "until a clearer picture emerges on cash generation versus cash requirements for upcoming pension obligations".

Cloudera upgraded to Buy from Neutral at DA Davidson
DA Davidson analyst Rishi Jaluria upgraded Cloudera (CLDR) to Buy from Neutral and raised his price target to $27 from $15 while also affirming Hortonworks (HDP) at Buy and raising its price target to $35 from $24 after the two companies announced an all-stock merger of equals yesterday. The analyst is positive on the merger's ability to reduce pricing pressure from the separation from the other Hadoop vendors, equip Cloudera to battle cloud data warehouse vendors like AWS (AMZN) Redshift, and accelerate innovation. Jaluria adds that even after the aftermarket gains in both companies' stocks, the market is likely undervaluing the combined company by assigning a 5-times enterprise value to expected forward revenue multiple, which is a "significant discount" to the peer group.

Trade Desk pullback due to misplaced concerns about Amazon, says Stifel
Stifel analyst John Egbert raised his mid- and long-term estimates for Trade Desk (TTD) citing momentum from new advertiser wins and the fact that platform spend and attach rates are benefiting from the recent New Wave product launch. He believes recent weakness in Trade Desk shares may be related to worries over online reports suggesting Amazon (AMZN) has discussed building a proprietary video ad serving product for its own streaming business, but sees these concerns as misplaced, Egbert added. Based on the available information, it seems like Amazon is focusing on video ad server technology, not a connected TV ad buying software tool, which would pit it against Trade Desk partners Comcast's (CMCSA) Freewheel and Google (GOOGL) Ad Manager, not Trade Desk itself, Egbert explains. He maintains a Buy rating on Trade Desk and raised his price target on the stock to $155 from $130.

Amazon to be accelerant of disruption coming for healthcare, says Bernstein
Bernstein analyst Lance Wilkes believes disruption is coming for healthcare and that Amazon (AMZN) will be an accelerant of this disruption. Further, the analyst sees a parallel with the fast changes in health insurance which took place in the 90's, when health insurance changed from 90% indemnity to 80% managed care within ten years. Wilkes thinks Amazon is developing a series of business strategies for entering healthcare market segments, namely directly entering online pharmacy, creating a disruptor in the employer healthcare space through its venture with Berkshire (BRK.A) and JPMorgan (JPM), and entering digital consumer healthcare spaces including using Alexa for consumer engagement and behavior modification.

Amazon.com minimum wage increase a positive, says DA Davidson
DA Davidson analyst Tom Forte kept his Buy rating and $2,450 price target on Amazon after its decision to increase its minimum wage to $15 per hour starting November 1st. The analyst views the move as a positive in helping the company to attract talent as a way to sustain its growth, to require more employees at the minimum wage level as it expands its physical footprint with Amazon Go stores / book stores / and Whole Foods businesses, and to improve its "political influence" by paying a "living wage". Forte also sees the expected mid-single digit payroll increase as a result of the change to have limited impact financially as it will likely be accompanied by eliminated incentive pay and because of its reliance on "base-light, stock-heavy" compensation strategy.
