Marimaca Copper announced…

Marimaca Copper announced the definition of a new, large scale, copper geochemical anomaly at the Roble Target, which it plans to drill test over the coming months. In addition, the first phase of drilling has been completed at the Marimaca Sulphide Target, with all remaining assays expected towards the end of April 2021. Highlights: Roble Target extends over 3km of strike; Strong geochemical anomaly identified extending 1,500m by nearly 500m; 50m x 50m grid soil sampling completed; Reconnaissance and outcrop mapping identified widespread copper oxide mineralization; Numerous high-grade rock chip samples, including: 2.30% CuT, 2.21% CuT, 1.69% CuT, 1.66% CuT, 1.54% CuT, 1.08% CuT and 0.94% CuT; Widespread mineralization in rock chip samples above 0.1% CuT; Construction of drill pads at Roble commencing at the end of April for drilling prior to the end of the first half of 2021; Cindy Target drilling to commence towards the end of April 2021; Mercedes Target drill pad and access infrastructure preparation underway expected to be completed at the end of April 2021; Marimaca Sulphide Target drilling complete, awaiting assays which are expected towards the end of April 2021. Roble is located approximately 3km to the northeast of the Company's flagship Marimaca Oxide Deposit, within the northeast trending Roble Fault System. This is a splay off the regional scale Naguayan Fault System, which itself is an important control for mineralization at the MOD. Roble is associated with a large magnetic anomaly previously identified in the regional, high-resolution, drone mounted magnetics survey. The Roble Target extends along 3,000m of strike north to south, coincident with the magnetic anomaly previously identified and the Roble Fault System. The Company has completed sampling and mapping of the northern extent, which it considers to be the most prospective area and extends approximately 1,500m north to south with an average width of nearly 500 meters east to west. Notwithstanding that the area is extensively covered by sulphate regolith and post mineralization gravels, the 50m x 50m grid soil geochemical sampling program delineated a large-scale copper anomaly in this area. Follow up mapping and reconnaissance exploration noted widespread outcropping copper oxide mineralization coincident with the broader copper soil anomaly. Rock chip sampling of the outcropping oxide mineralization highlighted numerous areas with grades exceeding 0.1% CuT distributed across the full 1,500m of length of the geochemical anomaly, with the most prospective area focused around the Nepal sector, which had numerous higher grade rock chip samples over an area of approximately 500m by 500m. The Company plans to drill the Roble Target following the drilling of the Cindy Target, targeting shallow oxide mineralization.

Marimaca Copper is…

Marimaca Copper is pleased to announce the assay results of the first drill hole of a five-hole program targeting extensions of sulphide mineralization below the Company's flagship Marimaca Oxide Deposit. Drilling encountered a broad zone of chalcopyrite and minor chalcocite, indicating potential for economic sulphide mineralization. Highlights: Drill hole MAR-125 intersected 116m at an average grade of 0.51% CuT from 162m, including two higher grade zones of: 20m with an average grade of 0.77% CuT from 162m; and 42m with an average grade of 0.92% CuT from 236m. Intersection represents a significantly broader zone of mineralization than anticipated from earlier, nearby, sulphide drilling intersections. First drill hole of an initial five-hole campaign to test for extensions of mineralization at depth. First hole designed to extend mineralization closer to sulphide zones identified in historical drilling. Remaining four holes designed to test the limits of mineralization with step outs of approximately 300m at depth and between 400m and 700m along strike to the north and south of the first hole. Sulphide drilling to be completed shortly, with assay results on remaining holes expected by the end of April 2021. In response to escalating COVID situation in Chile, the Company has initiated a break in drilling which is not expected to impact the original target of testing all identified targets by the end of 1H 2021. The current five-hole drilling campaign at the Marimaca Copper Project is designed to test for extensions to mineralization below the MOD. Based on the structural controls of the mineralization, the results of previous geophysical campaigns and earlier drilling, which extended beyond the current Mineral Resource Estimate area, the Company believes there is the potential for extensions of the mineralized body at depth across the full strike length of the MOD. All drill holes will be drilled at an azimuth of 270o and at -60o, roughly perpendicular to the north-south striking, easterly dipping mineralizing structures. Intercepts should, therefore, be relatively close to the true width of the mineralization. The first drill hole encountered a broad zone of dominantly chalcopyrite mineralization with some pyrite and minor chalcocite over a down hole width of 116m with an average grade of 0.51% CuT. This includes two zones of higher-grade mineralization including 20m with an average grade of 0.77% CuT and 42m with an average grade of 0.92% CuT at the end of the mineralized intercept. The hole was collared to test mineralization approximately 100m to the east of the earlier hole ATR-82, which intersected 44m of sulphide copper mineralization with an average grade of 1.05% CuT, and 200m and 300m east of holes ATR-93 and ATR-94 respectively, which both intersected mineralization with true widths of around 40m with average grades above 1.0% CuT. MAR-125 has demonstrated an extension to this higher-grade mineralization and provides further areas to target for follow up drilling. MAR-125 is located in the center of the current MRE area, proximal to a zone of relatively high-grade sulphide mineralization intercepted in several drill holes over widths of between 30m and 50m. The remaining four drill holes have been located to test the limits of the mineralization by stepping out significantly at depth and along strike beyond the current MRE area. The collar of the second hole, MAS-03, is located approximately 100m to the south and 350m to the east of MAR-125 and is aimed to intersect mineralization approximately 300m below MAR-125. MAS-02 and MAS-04, located approximately 400m and 700m, respectively, south of MAR-125, and are planned as significant step outs along strike, targeting the conductivity high noted in the IP survey completed across the MOD

Marimaca Copper is…

Marimaca Copper is pleased to announce the results of induced polarization surveys completed at the Mercedes and Cindy Targets located 3km and 5km to the north of the Company's flagship Marimaca Copper Project. The surveys have identified extensive high chargeability anomalies, and significant resistivity lows which could represent potential oxide mineralization at each target. Highlights: Extensive high chargeability anomalies identified at both Cindy and Mercedes, indicating widespread presence of sulphide mineralization. Coincident with the previously announced magnetic and surface geochemical anomalies at each target. Resistivity lows identified may highlight potential for significant oxide mineralization below thin surface cover. IP survey results complement the copper geochemical anomalies found at both targets and in combination, will aid drill hole planning for the upcoming exploration campaign. Results provide additional information regarding structural controls of mineralization and continue to add to the geological understanding of the Marimaca district. Mapping and sampling underway at the Robles Target, located east north east of Marimaca. First drill rig now onsite and drilling of Marimaca Sulphide Target is in progress. Following the success of the IP survey completed over the MOD, the Company completed similar surveys at both the Mercedes and Cindy Targets which are located 3km and 5km to the north of the Company's flagship Marimaca Copper Project, respectively. As with the previous survey, the objective was to identify potential areas of sulphide mineralization in proximity to the magnetic and copper geochemical anomalies identified through previous exploration work. The IP method was selected because of its deep penetration and high levels of resolution in detecting sulphide mineralization. The surveys were completed by GRS Chile Ltda. and consisted of a single 3.5km east-west line at Mercedes and a second 4.0km east-west line at the Cindy target. As at Marimaca, the survey highlighted an anomalous resistivity low coincident with the interpreted supergene zone at both Mercedes and Cindy. At Marimaca, these resistivity lows are coincident with the upper, highly fractured, supergene altered, intrusive host rock, containing the supergene oxide copper blanket which makes up the Marimaca Oxide Deposit. The similar resistivity lows at both Mercedes and Cindy appear to be consistent with this interpretation. Again, with remarkable similarity to Marimaca, the IP chargeability highs show broad, laterally extensive, blanket like distributions for both targets. These anomalies appear to be controlled by the major Naguayan Fault System and have a similar orientation to those at Marimaca.

Marimaca Copper is…

Marimaca Copper is pleased to announce the results of a recently completed rock geochemistry and reconnaissance mapping program at the Cindy Target, which is located 5km to the north of the Company's flagship Marimaca Copper Project. Highlights: Geochemical sampling has identified a very large copper anomaly with grades as high as 2.9% Cu; Greater than 200ppm Cu anomaly extending over 1km of strike, several ore grade samples noted; Coincident with historical underground artisanal workings exploiting high grade magnetite-chalcopyrite mineralization; A significant proportion of the Cindy Target is concealed by post mineral gravels, similar to the Mercedes Target; The geochemical anomaly is potentially larger than the footprint indicated; Underground sampling provided valuable information regarding mineralizing structures and depth of oxidation; Indicates potential for broad zones of oxide mineralization above the level of the underground workings; Geochemical anomaly has the same host rocks and controlling structures as observed at the Marimaca Oxide Deposit; The Naguayan Fault System, the key controlling fault at the MOD, crosses the Cindy Target; IP surveys completed for Mercedes and Cindy Targets, results pending. The Cindy Target is located approximately 5km to the north of the MOD, and 2km to the north of the Mercedes Target and was initially also identified as a large-scale magnetic anomaly, which has many characteristics in common with the MOD including its structural orientation and size. The magnetic anomaly is adjacent to the important, regionally extensive, Naguayan Fault System, dips at a similar orientation to the magnetic anomaly at Marimaca and is also coincident with historical high-grade artisanal, underground, copper workings. The Company has completed a rock geochemistry survey on a 50 metre by 50 metre grid as well as completing geological mapping and reconnaissance over the same surface area. This defined a large-scale anomaly, exceeding 200pm Cu, which extends over a north-south strike of approximately 1km. Mapping and reconnaissance of the historical underground workings was also completed, highlighting the presence of high-grade magnetite chalcopyrite mineralization and providing valuable information regarding the mineralizing structures and the depth of oxidation for the Cindy Target area. Key features noted were similar host rocks and structures to those observed at Marimaca. In particular, north-south striking, east dipping, parallel sheeted fracturing intruded by various dykes and crosscut by late stage faulting on a west north west orientation. The copper mineralization includes chalcopyrite, brochantite, chrysocolla and atacamite, which are the key copper minerals at the MOD. While several samples were high grade, including 2.9% at the historical workings and 0.9% Cu approximately 500m to the south of the workings, the Cindy Target has much lower levels of exposure and, as with Mercedes, large portions of it appear to be covered by post mineralization gravels. This indicates that the mineralizing system could be significantly larger than the geochemical footprint indicates.

Marimaca Copper is…

Marimaca Copper is pleased to announce the results of an induced polarization survey completed at the Marimaca Copper Project, which has identified an extensive chargeability anomaly below the Company's flagship Marimaca Oxide Deposit. The Company completed a Preliminary Economic Assessment for the MOD in 2020, which highlighted its unique characteristics and shows the Project has the potential to be among the lowest capital and operating cost copper projects when in production, delivering a post tax NPV8 of US$524m using a US$3.15/lb copper price. The PEA is considered preliminary in nature and includes Inferred Mineral Resources that are considered too speculative, geologically, to have the economic considerations applied that would enable classification as Mineral Reserves. There is no certainty that the conclusions within the PEA will be realized. The PEA is based on the material assumptions outlined in the release dated the 4th of August 2020. Highlights: Extensive high chargeability anomaly identified, indicating widespread presence of sulphide mineralization below the MOD; Survey results provide numerous targets for the upcoming drilling campaign; Survey results provide additional information regarding structural controls of mineralization and continue to add to the geological understanding of Marimaca; Surface geological mapping and geochemical sampling at Cindy target completed, results pending; IP results for Mercedes and Cindy targets expected imminently. The Company completed an IP survey over the MOD with the objective of identifying areas of sulphide mineralization associated with, or proximal to, the MOD. The IP method was selected because of its deep penetration and high levels of resolution. The survey was completed by GRS Chile Ltda. and consisted of five east-west lines on 300m north-south spacing for a total of 17.5 line kilometres.

Marimaca Copper is…

Marimaca Copper is pleased to announce the results of a recently completed surface geochemical sampling and reconnaissance mapping program at the Mercedes Target, which is located 3km to the north of the Company's flagship Marimaca Oxide Deposit. Geochemical sampling has identified a large copper anomaly with grades as high as 0.6% in surface sampling. Central geochemical high is approximately 300 metres by 300 metres and is coincident with historical mine workings with grades ranging from 0.2% up to 0.6% copper. A large plus 200ppm Cu anomaly extends over an area of approximately 600 metres by 500 metres, which compares favorably to the MOD. Approximately half of the Mercedes Target is concealed by post mineral gravels. The geochemical anomaly is potentially larger than the footprint indicates. Very little of the mineralized zone is exposed at surface and there is a superficial leached zone. Indicates the current anomaly is strong relative to typical background copper levels in this area and compares favorably to the MOD. The geochemical anomaly has the same host rocks and controlling structures as observed at the MOD. Intensely fractured monzodiorite host rock. North-south striking, east dipping, parallel sheeted fractures hosting mineralization. North-west trending late or post mineral fractures that control the supergene oxidation at MOD. Naguayan Fault System, the key controlling fault at the MOD, crosses the Mercedes Target. 1:1000 geological mapping and reconnaissance and geochemical sampling has commenced at the Cindy Target, approximately 1.5km to the north of the Mercedes Target. Exploration work is underway to further refine targets for the upcoming drilling campaigns which are expected to commence in early Q1 2021. The Mercedes Target is located approximately 3km to the north of the MOD and was identified as a large-scale magnetic anomaly, which has many characteristics in common with the MOD including its structural orientation and size. The magnetic anomaly is within close proximity to the important, regionally extensive, Naguayan Fault System, dips in a similar orientation to the magnetic anomaly at Marimaca and is also coincident with historical artisanal, open pit, oxide copper workings. The Company has completed a sampling program on a 50 metre by 50 metre grid in the area immediately coincident with the magnetic anomaly, extending to the west over the area believed to be prospective for oxide mineralization, as well as completing geological mapping and reconnaissance work over the same area. This defined a large copper anomaly extending approximately 600 metres by 500 metres with values above 200ppm copper. Key features noted were similar host rocks and structures to those observed at Marimaca. In particular, north-south striking, east dipping, parallel sheeted fracturing intruded by various dykes and crosscut by late stage faulting on a west north west orientation. The copper mineralization includes brochantite, chrysocolla and atacamite, which are the key oxide minerals at the MOD. The core of the geochemical anomaly is also coincident with an area which has several small scale historical artisanal workings. Grades in this area were as high as 0.6% Cu, with numerous samples of between 0.2% and 0.5% Cu. These workings have exposed mineralization and structural controls and allowed Marimaca Copper's geological team to observe numerous similarities with the MOD. One key feature is the presence of easterly dipping, north-south oriented, sheeted fracture zones which were prevalent at the MOD. As at Marimaca, the sheeted fractures host and control the copper mineralization at Mercedes. As part of the mobilization process for the upcoming drilling campaigns, the Company will build new roads and drill pads, which should expose the mineralization horizon and allow for more detailed mapping and sampling to be completed prior to drilling these exciting targets. The area coincident with the large magnetic anomaly at Mercedes is overlain by an extensive cover of post mineralization gravels. These gravels tend to get thicker towards the west of the magnetic anomaly, which is the area believed to be most prospective for Marimaca Style oxide mineralization. Surface geological mapping has identified several areas where oxide mineralization has been exposed below gravel cover which provides additional evidence for the potential for oxide mineralization at Mercedes.
