Scotiabank analyst Maher… Scotiabank analyst Maher Yaghi assumed coverage of T-Mobile with a Sector Perform rating and $153 price target. The analyst yesterday morning assumed coverage on 10 telecommunications and cable companies, both in Canada and the United States. He expects low-single-digit growth in Canada in 2022 and 2023, but says companies with higher wireless exposure should fare better. Yaghi is bullish on the Canadian wireless market, despite feeling it is too early to make an investment decision based on wireline technology. In the United States, valuations are not as elevated versus historical averages compared to Canada, likely due to the U.S. market's bigger pool of defensive investment vehicles, Yaghi told investors in a research note. He sees good prospects for U.S. stocks in terms of pricing, even in wireless, "potentially offering growth after many years of being under pressure." ShowHide Related Items >><<

Dish's recent weakness offers 'new low entry point,' says Truist »

Truist analyst Greg… Truist analyst Greg Miller said Dish's (DISH) stock price had "gone from bad to worse" over the past several days amid an "initial void of communications" relating to the completion of its FCC mandated 20% coverage, followed by a positive new Master Network Services Agreement with T-Mobile (TMUS) that was partially offset by an otherwise neutral DC Circuit court decision that "appeared negative" and a filing by SpaceX that "could limit full utilization of its vast MVDDS spectrum holdings." In his view, the "only real new news" was the MNSA with T-Mobile so he believes the recent weakness offers investors "a new low entry point to the stock," Miller said. He maintains a Buy rating and $60 price target on Dish shares, which are up 27c, or 2%, to $16.79 in Wednesday afternoon trading. ShowHide Related Items >><<

The Term Sheet will not be effective unless it is approved by the DOJ by August 14. ShowHide Related Items >><<

T-Mobile (TMUS) announced… T-Mobile (TMUS) announced earlier what it calls its "latest Un-carrier move," Coverage Beyond, which the company said will expand coverage and keep customers connected on flights and in 210+ countries and destinations. Starting June 21, when touching down in a foreign country, T-Mobile customers will get 5GB of free high-speed data each month, up to 5G speeds where available, in 210+ countries and destinations on T-Mobile's Magenta MAX plan and on the Business Unlimited Ultimate plan. In addition, customers will get the same experience of 5GB of high-speed data in 11 European countries - Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and Slovakia - on Magenta, most business plans and equivalent Sprint plans thanks to T-Mobile's partnership with Deutsche Telecom (DTEGY), the company stated. T-Mobile also announced that it is working with in-flight Wi-Fi providers to give customers free connectivity with streaming all flight long on the biggest U.S. airlines. Delta (DAL), American (AAL) and Alaska Airlines (ALK) will launch first on select flights starting June 21. "United Airlines (UAL) will follow. And T-Mobile will continue to work hard to keep customers covered on even more airlines over time," T-Mobile stated. ShowHide Related Items >><<

Truist analyst Greg… Truist analyst Greg Miller raised the firm's price target on Cable One (CABO) to $1,600 from $1,400 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The valuation downdraft in cable names has been driven by the fear that passing 30M-40M more homes with fiber and the launch of fixed wireless products by Verizon (VZ) and T-Mobile (TMUS) will not only slow the growth of the largest cable operators but might take subscribers from the existing base, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Miller adds however that Cable One sell-off will also prove to be an overreaction and that the company is well positioned to beat expectations for high-single-digit net-add, revenue growth, and margin expansion for the balance of 2022 into 2023.
