The Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart-led remake has received an A- CinemaScore and got a 77% from Rotten Tomatoes. BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: 21st Century Fox (FOXA) "The Post" came in second, posting solid numbers as it expanded nationwide into 2,819 theaters. Steven Spielberg's movie earned $19.3M for the four-day holiday weekend. Behind it was Lionsgate's (LGF.A) newcomer "The Commuter," with $13.7M from almost 2,900 theaters. 21st Century Fox's "The Greatest Showman" placed number four, earning $12.5M and closing in on the $100M mark. Rounding out the top five, Comcast's (CMCSA; CMCSK) "Insidious: The Last Key" ended the holiday weekend with $12.45M from 3,150 theaters. Other publicly traded companies in filmmaking include Viacom (VIAB), Walt Disney (DIS) and Warner Bros. (TWX). | |
