Averages up in early trading but off best levels

Stock futures moved sharply higher in pre-market trading, but pared their gains prior to the open. With little on the economic calendar scheduled for release and earnings season just about wrapped up, investors may be focused mainly on Fed speakers, bond yields and political headlines. Nearly an hour into trading, the Dow is up 87 points, the Nasdaq is up 27 points and the S&P is up 12 points.
