Stocks mixed amid Saudi tension

Stock futures were trading lower throughout the early session, leading to a lower start for the broader market, though the Dow has already moved back into the green in early trading. The rising tension between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia over the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi has given investors a new headwind, specifically in the oil market, which could become a big issue if the U.S. finds the Saudis at fault. President Trump has threatened harsh measures against the guilty party, while the Saudis have said any retaliation would be met with whatever economic power they have, namely oil. The Saudis have also said they have opened an internal investigation along with Turkey to find out what happened. In early trading, the S&P 500 is down 5 points, the Dow is up 19 points and the Nasdaq is down 46 points.
