On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlights

Flows were very heavy relative to prior weeks with the skew on the creations side by a factor of over 3.3, per data from ETF.com. On the creations side three significant inflows to note were to the SPDR S&P 500 (SPY), iShares Short Treasury Bond ETF (SHV, and the iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD)). Those three funds alone were over 62% of total inflows. Bonds overall accounted for over 51% of inflows. On the outflows side over 78% of redemptions were from bond funds. Those funds were the iShares 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (SHY), iShares National Muni Bond ETF (IJH), iShares National Muni Bond ETF (MUB), Vanguard Short-Term Bond ETF (BSV), and the iShares Floating Rate Bond ETF (FLOT).
