2019-06-21 12:58:09 | On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlightsThe week saw a rather extreme skew to creations by a factor of over 3 to 1 for the top twenty ETFs, per data from ETF.com. On the creations side there were consistently large inflows to the top 8 funds. Unlike prior weeks only one bond ETF, the iShares iBoxx USD Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD) saw large inflows. The top two equity ETFs seeing inflows were the Vanguard Mid-Cap ETF (VO) and the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV). Those two funds were over 28% of inflows. Other top funds were Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG), iShares Russell 2000 (IWM), First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (SKYY), and iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF (IEFA). On the redemptions side the single largest outflow was from the iShares MSCI EAFE ETF (EFA), which appears to be an offset for the inflow into the IEFA. Bond funds totaled over 40% of outflows. The single largest outflow among bond funds was the SPDR Bloomberg Barclays 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF (BIL). |
