On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlights

For the week redemptions bested creations by a factor of over 1.2 to 1 per data from ETF.com. On the redemptions side, the single largest outflow was from the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) which was by itself over 31% of outflows. The second largest redemption was from the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) at over 19.3% of outflows. The remainder of redemptions were significantly smaller in scale and were comprised of mostly bond funds. On the creations side, it was not index funds but the iShares ESG MSCI EM ETF (ESGE) and the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD) which saw the largest individual flows which when combined were over 29% of creations. The remainder of fund inflows were smaller in scale and without theme.
