2020-10-30 14:31:55 | On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlightsFor the week redemptions bested creations by a factor of more than 2.3 to 1 per data from ETF.com. On the redemptions side, just three funds in the top ten accounted for more than 76% of outflows. They were the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), iShares iBoxx USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG), and Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ). There was a sharp drop in dollar volume below with the remaining 7 funds account for just a little more than 23% of outflows. On the creations side the skews were less extreme but still heavily weighted to the top three names. Inflows into SPDR S&P Dividend ETF (SDY), Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO), and Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) comprised over 42% of inflows. Bonds also saw significant creations that summed to over 40% of inflows. Those funds were the iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG), Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (BND), iShares MBS ETF (MBB), Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCSH), Schwab Short-Term U.S. Treasury ETF (SCHO). |
